Whether you are an employee or an independent contractor, we provide structured industrial support and collective representation to help protect your career.

We believe that your work should not only pay the bills but also provide security, respect, and opportunity.

Australian Union for Fitness Professionals

The Union for Australia’s Fitness Workforce.
The Australian Union for Fitness Professionals Incorporated (INC2500924) is a non‑profit incorporated association registered in New South Wales under the Associations Incorporation Act 2009, ABN 49 680 455 886 and incorporated on 24 July 2025.

We represent fitness professionals across Australia, providing industry‑specific support, workplace representation, and guidance from people with more than twenty years of experience in the fitness sector.

Why We Need The AUFP

The fitness industry sells “well‑being,” but it is not widely known for treating its workforce well. Many fitness professionals experience low pay, inconsistent conditions, and limited workplace support.

This contributes to high turnover and ongoing workforce shortages across the sector. The AUFP was created to address these issues and to advocate for safer, fairer, and more sustainable working conditions for fitness professionals.

What Makes The AUFP Different

One Industry Only Unlike multi‑sector unions that cover dozens of industries, the AUFP focuses exclusively on one industry, the fitness industry.

20+ Years of Industry Experience Members receive guidance from people who have worked in the fitness industry for more than two decades.

Standing up for systemic instability in the fitness sector
For too long, fitness professionals have faced underpayment, insecure engagements, and inconsistent workplace protections. AUFP was founded by industry professionals with over 20 years of sector experience to address structural wage and compliance issues across the industry.

What Makes The AUFP Different

The AUFP provides guidance and information through Group Fitness Help (GFH) — our private Facebook group dedicated to group fitness professionals.
GFH includes information on group fitness, payroll, union matters, and workplace relations, helping fitness professionals understand their rights and navigate workplace issues.
